SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 3, 2001-- Semotus Solutions, formerly Datalink.net (AMEX:DLK - news), a market leading wireless application service provider (w-ASP) and infrastructure architect, today announced a partnership agreement with MShift, Inc., a leading provider of wireless development software and solutions, to market and deploy MobileShift(TM) IDE, a wireless application development platform, to new and existing clients around the world.
The MShift/Semotus Wireless Solution consists of a wireless platform, tools and value-added applications that enable e-businesses and enterprises to design, build and deploy their own wireless and voice-driven applications that are fully compliant with industry security standards.
The partnership also offers enterprises the option of an outsourced or licensed solution to rapidly configure and deliver wireless applications that both create and extend their revenue opportunities. According to Cahners In-Stat Group, a high-tech market research firm, Internet enabled wireless devices will, over the next several years, replace the desktop computer as the preferred method of accessing information via the Internet. In-Stat also predicted the number of worldwide wireless data subscribers will grow from more than 174 million in 2001 to greater than 1.3 billion by the end of 2004.
